Mo and Kay visited SeneGambia resort, West Africa to see the Feeding of the Vultures. This is probably one of the few places in the world where you can see wild vultures and other birds of prey being fed by humans. We didn’t have to pay for this, as its free for people to watch.
The vultures where actually very calm and nothing like how we thought they would be like. This may be due to the fact that they are in contact with and fed by humans every day at this resort. The birds instinctually turn up around 11am everyday, as free food makes an easy life. Some birds stick around the resort most of the day, so you can photograph them and see their social interactions. This alone was my favourite time with the vultures, as they are really cool to watch and film.
I am told that the vultures are now no the endangered list, this is a shame as they are not as evil as people make out. They are also responsible for cleaning up dead corpse which over wise would spread disease.
